North Cardinal Solutions was created as a way to provide individuals, boat builders, boat yards and OEMs with a process to create marine-grade parts without the hassle of having to get CAD drawings completed by one company, then explain the nuances of the marine environment to a general engineering company or fabrication shop that would then use those drawings to create a part that subsequently might or might not fit. We have all the skills in-house to develop designs for parts, from simple one-offs to complex assemblies, create drawings or physical models to test-fit, and then subsequently produce in the chosen material, ensuring a perfect outcome every time.
Being sailors and boat builders ourselves, we talk the same language and understand boats.
We understand where and how to use marine-grade materials, how to finish items (from painting to galvanising to anodising to polishing) in order to provide the best longevity for the part and how to minimise maintenance. We understand the need for rapid part production where timelines are critical to get back to business, racing or simply to avoid a hurricane season. We understand the difficulties of getting parts to far-flung locations – where ever your vessel may be.
Owning and running boats ourselves, we also know that the vast majority of boat parts are low volume or one-offs, and require very specific geometry and specifications to ensure a successful implementation. From engine mounts to handrails, hard dodgers to rig parts, almost all are either extremely hard to find to purchase off the shelf or are entirely bespoke and the need for a personal, professional service is key to a successful outcome.
