This diverter block was required to change the lead angle of some lines led aft to a set of Spinlock clutches. The change in angle was slight, and deck space was tight in the chosen location so the part had to be more compact than a standard deck organiser with sheaves. The diverter also had to have the same hole centres as the Spinlock triple clutch – hence the custom unit.
It is machined out of 6061 aluminum, polished and then anodised to reduce friction. The unit is held to the deck with 2x 8mm pan head bolts, recessed into the unit to keep things clean and free of corners where stray ropes may hang up.
